Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. In June, Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves announced a national holiday to celebrate the country's election to the UN Security Council for the next two years. According to CountryAAH, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with their 110,000 residents, became the smallest state to date in the Security Council. On October 27, the country celebrated again, this time 40 years since Saint Vincent and the Grenadines became independent from the UK. However, the island state is still part of the Commonwealth, with British Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. In August, a new governor-general, that is, the representative of the British monarch in the country, swore in: Susan Dougan became the first woman in the post.

In July, Prime Minister Gonsalves conducted a two-day state visit to Seychelles, whose President Danny Faure said he saw Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as an important partner in lifting the challenges facing small island nations on the global agenda.
