“Stars Are a Nightmare”

Rebecca Weinberg (47) is one of the most successful stylists worldwide, won an Emmy Award for their work on the series “Sex and the City”. Our site met the five-time mother in Berlin for an interview. She told us that what constitutes good style and why she wants to never again work with stars.

She wears undercut, sunglasses, feather headdress and rings, a more elegant version of a jogging pants, sandals and a glass of white wine in his hand: the native Texan Rebecca Weinberg belongs to the most successful stylists in the world, expensive designer clothes are your everyday life – and yet she likes it privately prefer casual.

With the styling for “Sex and the City”, she won an Emmy Award. A series, which is about ten years after the last flap still as a characteristic style and really made known designers like Manolo Blahnik. Our site met during a visit to Berlin, where she was invited as an invited speaker for Zalando vineyard.

STYLEBOOK: ‘Sex and the City’ you know-Insiderin but determines whether a third part come or not?
Rebecca Weinberg: “The film is certainly, but I don’t know whether or not they now turn.”

Will you work again as a stylist on the film?
Vineyard: “No, because with movies you can make anything as a stylist. I have five children with my girlfriend and have to pay mortgages. I broke in 2004 up ‘Sex and the City’ series, because I wanted to have children at the time. SATC has lost unfortunately its original charm with the films, only a real mass production, which no longer with designers, but rather with major brands such as H & M is worked. The story of the film is thin, nothing more really tells it is earning more money. I’m sorry!”

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker has made the series into a style icon. In the first season of 1998, she was but still a long way away…
Vineyard: “No one knew at the time Sarah Jessica. Patricia Field and I moved from showroom to showroom and tried to cadge clothes for them. Since it was only who?’. No one wanted to lend us clothes for the series. When I said was in “The goonies” and is married to Matthew Broderick Sarah Jessica ‘, then they meant no more than, Oh, is that with the curls and the large nose?’. Only after episode seven Narciso Rodriguez helped us a couple, such as Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, Gaultier, Alberta Ferretti,.”

Which was then famous style of the series, the characters well known designer and made shoe labels such as Manolo Blahnik, world-famous…
Vineyard: “Yes, from the third season it went really well, the fourth was almost ridiculous. Since we had to borrow any more, because everything was sent us just what we wanted, crates Chanel and Dior. We were pretty lazy. If Givenchy Haute Couture from Paris will send you, no longer are you going to Barneys or attack back on Second-Hand clothes. This abundance has made the series but dull, that’s why I wanted to go eventually. I’m more of a street girl, I mix like expensive and cheap. Initially, the series has shown women still really what they look like on the street, later then not more. “So I personally don’t know anyone who has a closet of full of Manolos, highest cheapened which shoppt in the sample sale.”

What is the key to a good look?
Vineyard: “Self-confidence! Who wears jogging pants upside hang out makes the label and this high heels combined, can be admired by many for it – provided you wear it with the right attitude.”

Their most important style tips?
Vineyard: “It’s about that one asks the right questions to find out his personal style. How is my lifestyle, my work situation? Work includes now also the social life. How important is comfort to me? A jacket from comme of Garcon looks great for example, is not for everyday but unless you stand around all day only immobile. What is my budget? How is my body feeling? I’m even almost fifty and like to wear sneakers and baggy pants, because I feel after that.”

How important is it personally, to be always top styled to you?
Vineyard: “This is me everything anyway. I go even without a bra out of the House. Since I have children, comfort at the top is for me, I’m also no high heels. I would like to think not too much about these things. This is true not only for my personal style, but also for my work. You may think fashion not dead. “If you long to over think what to put on a model in a tampon advertising, then certainly nothing good comes out.”

Earlier, nobody talked about the stylists from celebrities. Why are they so popular today?
Vineyard: “This is probably the technology. Thanks to social media, TV and carpet coverage red everyone know today who has styled what. Today is a stylist. but everyone”

You work with many celebrities?
Vineyard: “No, stars are a nightmare and not my thing. I’m just no good ass-Kisser and much honestly for this job. Many stars are used only more yes-men, PR people, who think that the celebrity looks good if it wedges in size 32, although in truth he has size 38. Also the thin celebs who stand in front of the mirror and found fat are bad. I want to have nothing more to do with this false perception of the body.”

You are here in Berlin, to introduce the new concept of Zalon, where where everyone for free can get advice from a personal stylist. Normal people like you and I do need a stylist?
Vineyard: “Yes, here people can learn a lot about their style. Friends are not always honest, often quickly say what good is one. Here, someone makes suggestions, who knows what you might like and what labels you like. The network provides in addition to many possibilities, as you quickly lose track. “If I may ask, Hey, I have a pear-shaped figure and large breasts, I can so that wear Skinny Jeans?’, then that’s great.”

Are you even a traditional buyer or an online Shopperin?
Vineyard: “I like both. Online is super to come from everywhere on the most fantastic things. Most of us live in Paris, London, New York or Berlin, and do not have access to all the great brands. Also with me in the Hamptons, there is not much choice. Apart from the fact we live in a time where we have but no time for anything. I don’t regularly make it to the manicure or me my upper lip waxen to let. For people who work 70 hours and don’t even have time to sit on the toilet, online shopping is still a blessing.”
