Visa to Bahrain
Bahrain is very loyal to Russian tourists – it cannot be said that you can go here as to your home, but at the same time, border formalities do not cause any inconvenience. Visa on arrival for 14 days – what could be easier! And if this is not enough, the stay can be extended for the same period by contacting the relevant authorities at the location. True, certain documents will still be asked to be presented at the border in addition to the “foreign” documents – however, their set of difficulties will not cause. In addition, you can apply for a “standard” visa to Bahrain – via the Internet or at the consulate.
Note: according to allcitypopulation, the population of Bahrain is 1.748 million (2021).
Entry into the country
Russian citizens can obtain a visa to enter the Kingdom of Bahrain for a period of 2 weeks upon arrival. It is issued at Bahrain International Airport by the immigration authorities. You can extend your visa at the General Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Bahrain for the same period.
To obtain a visa at the border, you must provide:
- valid international passport;
- return air ticket;
- hotel booking confirmation (you can print it from the Internet);
- completed migration card;
- confirmation of the required amount of funds for staying in the country.
The cost of a visa is 5 BHD (about 15 USD).
In addition, it is worth taking out a medical insurance policy for the entire duration of the trip in advance.
Applying for a visa online
If the passport expires before the end of the trip and / or the validity of the visa or before arrival in Bahrain there are 3 days or less left, the tourist can apply for a visa via the Internet by filling out a visa request directly on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
After filling in the personal data, it is necessary to pay a visa fee of 29 BHD using VISA, MasterCard bank cards. In case of refusal, the fee is non-refundable.
The validity of such a visa is 30 days from the date of issue, and the period of stay in the country is 14 days.
Bahrain visa documents
Required documents for obtaining a tourist visa:
- international passport
Valid for at least 3 months from the end of the trip;
- Photocopy of the international passport
A photocopy of the first page of the passport with the applicant’s data;
- Questionnaire
A completed application form in Arabic or English, personally signed by the applicant;
- A photo
2 photos 3.5×4.5 cm “prescription” no more than 6 months;
- For a private visit
An invitation from a sponsor, which can be either an individual or a legal entity (a hotel, a travel company officially registered in Bahrain, an airline, a government organization)
- For traveling with children
You must provide a copy of your birth certificate
The consular fee is 25 USD. The term for issuing a visa is from 3 to 15 days.
Bahrain Transit Visa
In the case of transit through the territory of Bahrain to third countries, if it is not intended to stay directly in the territory of the Kingdom of Bahrain for more than 72 hours, a visa is opened upon arrival (permission from the immigration service is not required).
The passenger must have tickets for the entire route and a visa to the country of destination, if required, and pay the fee. Persons flying to another country within 8 hours after arrival or on the first available flight and not leaving the airport transit area do not need a visa. A transit visa is issued for 24 hours or 72 hours (depending on the further route).
